Pastor’s Page

Patrick L. Turner

Rev. Patrick L. Turner is the consummate servant given to Mt. Moriah Missionary Baptist Church to teach, preach, shepherd, equip, and to instruct the people of God. He said he received his call to Preach the gospel at the age of 16; however, his response to the call was not immediate. At that point in his life, Pastor was just beginning to think of his future and all the things he had hoped to accomplish as a young adult. Unlike other professions, you don’t choose Christian ministry, it’s the ministry that chooses you. The Bible says that Jesus is the head of the Church (Colossians 1:18), and it is He who chooses who should enter full-time ministry (Ephesians 4:10-11).

The first sermon Preached by Pastor was titled, “Brambo Spirit”. This text was taken from Judges 9:14 New International Version (NIV) 14 “Finally all the trees said to the thornbush, ‘Come and be our king’. The book of Judges is a sordid, nasty, utterly broken place. Some of the most horrific accounts of sin detailed in the Bible are found in the book of Judges. We are told quite plainly: “In those days there was no king in Israel. Everyone did what was right in his own eyes”. In Judges 9, the people of Israel are beginning to reap what they’ve sown in discord and disobedience. As history repeats itself; Gideon sounds much like the world in which we live at this present time.

Pastor has been involved in Church Ministry for more than 30 years. His home church is Mt. Olive Baptist Church located in Fort worth, Texas. He Pastored Macedonia Baptist Church in Marshall, Texas. He united with Mt. Moriah Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Isiah Taylor 22 years ago. He’s been the Pastor of Mt. Moriah for 14 years. His Vision for our Church is we are as Christ said we would be. Within our daily lives we will be guided by the Word of God. We will be called to Action, Worship God in Spirit and in Truth, attend Church, Pray, Study the Word of God, Tithe, be a Service to others. However, first and foremost we must CHANGE. Perhaps the greatest desire Jesus has for us is that we continually examine our lives in humility before Him and change those areas that don’t agree with the instructions of the Bible.

Pastor’s impact goes for beyond those he directly Ministers. He has trained and mentored many whom have been also called to Preach the Gospel over the years, by sharing his skills, knowledge and experience with future generations of Ministers. Mt. Moriah Missionary Baptist Church is a beacon of hope because of Pastor. We are the Church that sits the highest on a Hill overlooking Fort Worth, Texas Eastside with a soon to be Lighted Cross for all to see. We Appreciate Pastor today for his commitment to the Ministry. We all find comfort knowing he is a great man whose wisdom and thoughtful approaches to complicated task is legendary. Supported by the dignity and respect in which he treats Mt. Moriah Missionary Baptist Church … and all those who come to us in need.
